Olivier coupling

Olivier Coupling: the better alternative to hexagonal/octagonal couplings and other traditional couplings, loaded with advantages. Join the many satisfied users who have already switched to the advanced Olivier Coupling.

The Olivier® couplings are specially designed for heavy-duty drilling, including displacement piles and other techniques. They are suitable for use in both open and closed concrete systems. In open systems, the Olivier coupling enables the smooth placement of concrete and reinforcement through the drilling pipes. In closed systems for high-pressure concrete or grout pumping, a sealing ring is integrated into the Olivier coupling. These couplings can handle drilling torque in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions and are easily disassembled, even after extended use. They are available in various sizes.

The new Olivier coupler

The new Olivier coupling, available for pipes starting at 133mm (5”¼), addresses several drawbacks of the classic version. It eliminates the need for screws and matches almost the same diameter as the drilling pipe. The inner diameter remains unchanged from the classic coupling. Additionally, the plugs have been modified and rounded to fit the coupling’s radius. These improvements result in a significantly reduced wear factor compared to the classic Olivier coupling.

Due to the absence of screws, there is no longer a threaded hole in the male side. This means that the interior of the male part is now completely sealed.

The new Olivier coupling is available in two versions: with 8 plugs and with 16 plugs. The choice depends on the specific application and the required drilling torque.

The classic Olivier coupler

The couplings are connected by a male and a female side that slide into each other for 500mm and are secured with 16 plugs. These plugs are arranged in a way that ensures there is never any torsion or pulling force on a thread.

The Olivier couplings are available in various sizes to accommodate different tube types and can also be customized to meet specific requirements.

Coupling for rotary head

Both the classic and the new Olivier couplings can be directly connected to rotary, and the coupling is strong enough to function without the need for a special cardan between the drive and the coupling, provided the drive allows it. Olivier can provide a special flanged coupling for rotary drive connection. These couplings are designed for use in open concrete systems, but customized versions are also suitable for closed systems where high-pressure concrete or grout is pumped.

Drilling pipes

The Olivier drill pipes, along with their corresponding couplings, are always assembled with a male coupling at the top and a female coupling at the bottom.

First, the ends of the pipes are machined and provided with an interior chamber. Then, the couplings are pressed into the pipe, ensuring that they are perfectly aligned with the pipe and can transmit a basic torque right from the start. Afterward, everything is welded together.

One set of drilling pipes can be used with multiple auger heads, each equipped with a male coupling that doesn’t wear out. The length and diameter of the pipes are customized based on customer requirements and the drilling machine, with common lengths being 4m (13′), 8m (26′), and 12m (40′).
